Before you can sell your vehicle it must pass a safety certificate under Queensland Transport regulations. This involves testing and inspection of tyres, brakes, suspension, body rust and damage, oil leaks, hand brake, seat belt, lights and your windscreen. If you sell your vehicle without the safety certificate you run the risk of being fined. Queensland Transport does allow any issues with the vehicle to be fixed 14 days after your first inspection, whereupon your vehicle can be re-inspected.
